A furious mom has slammed her infant’s nursery school for drawing a message on the child.
While the mother is rightly angry, the story has also drawn a collective chuckle on social media. The mom was stunned when her son returned home for nursery with a message written on his stomach with a marker pen.
Of course, teachers send notes home for parents regularly, but they never write the note on the child!
According to the single mother (called Heather on Facebook), her son Milo had writing all over his torso.Image: Milo with the writing on him. (Image: https://www.kidspot.com.au/news/daycare-teacher-writes-on-babys-body-with-marker-and-mum-is-furious/news-story/f476e0534ff2fed19b85ae01be655c53)
Furious Mom Hits Out
Mom points out its normal for the school to place a daily report in Milo’s lunchbox each day. This note shows what time their diapers were changed and if more diapers are needed the next day. Unfortunately, Heather missed a note asking her to pack more diapers the following day.
As reported by Kidspot, the next day the teacher took inappropriate action:
The note on Milo read: “Mum I’m out of diapers please read my report.”
She said: “Now keep in mind, I see several teachers at drop-off and several at pick-up.
“If I failed to see that he needs diapers a simple, ‘Hey Heather, your son needs diapers maybe you missed the report’ would have done the trick from any of the many teachers there I see daily.
“But instead, I change his diaper this afternoon AND SEE THIS WRITTEN ON MY SON WITH MARKER.
“I’ve scrubbed it with several baby wipes and it’s not coming off. I had plans to take them to the beach to play, and now I can’t because my son has writing all over him.
“I’m a single mum with a full-time job and two very young children. SUE ME FOR NOT READING THE REPORT EVERY SINGLE DAY.”Image: https://pixabay.com/photos/kids-girl-pencil-drawing-notebook-1093758/
Heather says she would have been fine with the school writing on her son’s diaper. However, it seems writing on children is something the school has done before.
Turning to others to ensure her reaction was justified, she wrote: “I need opinions. Am I right to be furious about this? Or am I overreacting?
“I really need your opinions guys, because I’m about to barge in this daycare tomorrow morning and have some words.”
The daycare worker who wrote the message has since been fired by the nursery.
Obviously, just about everyone on social media has agreed with the mom. While the story is semi-comical, it is also clear that this furious mom had a point.
