Find out the funny story of how a parrot tricks cops with a distress call it kept repeating.
Police in Florida were called out after reports there was a woman in a house calling out in distress. However, when they arrived on the scene, the cops found there was no-one in danger.
Instead, a noisy and talkative parrot was to blame for the “distress call”.
“Our deputies in Lake Worth Beach came to the help of someone screaming for help,” the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post on Saturday. “Hilarity ensued.”

Rambo the parrot has now become the talk of the town. The Facebook post provides information from the anonymous owner that explains the situation.

Rambo’s words were so real that a neighbor thought a woman was calling for help and alerted the police.
“I was changing the brakes on my wife’s car and had my 40-year-old parrot, Rambo, on his outside perch where he sings and talks. Sometime later four police officers showed up saying a neighbor called because she heard a woman screaming for help,” the owner said. “I promptly introduced the officers to Rambo, and we all had a good laugh.”
Officers provided camera footage of the incident, in which we can hear the owner hilariously say, “I’ll bring out the screamer to you”. Rambo the parrot is then shown to the police, with the officer exclaiming “Oh man!”.
“Afterwards, I also introduced Rambo to the neighbor who called in the screaming. She too had a good laugh,” the owner said. “Sometimes Rambo yells ‘help, help, let me out.’ Something I taught him when I was a kid and Rambo lived in a cage.”
