One woman had her perfect selfie ruined when she was photo-bombed by some penguins who were getting cozy with each other on a beach.
Instagram influencer Steph Elswood took a snap of herself but accidentally also captures two penguins in the throes of passion in the background.
Elswood was trying to get the best selfie possible when visiting Boulder Beach Penguin Colony in Cape Town, South Africa.
She claims she was concentrating so much on the photo that she did not realize the loving penguins were in the background.

Indeed, on Instagram, Steph says she only realized the problem when she posted the image online. Yes, it was her Instagram posters who spotted it.

In the images, Steph looks to be ignorant to what’s happening behind her so we can believe what she says about not knowing.
She wrote: “I was there for about 10 minutes trying to get a good pic next to my new pals Penny and Guin and THEY WERE HAVING SEX THE WHOLE TIME!!!!!!!
“I was being too self-absorbed to notice!!! HAHAHA OOPS.”
Selfies Are Not Helping Penguins
Steph returned later with another post and explained she had been told the penguins are struggling to reproduce. She points out people taking selfies is a problem.

She wrote: “PS. I have just been informed that the penguins on Boulders Beach are under a lot of stress due to tourists trying to get too close.

“If you are considering visiting this spot, then please be mindful and ask guards for appropriate distances because no one told us any of the rules I’ve been messaged about since posting this.
“I will definitely learn from this for the future and I’m sorry to anyone affected by this post”.
