As predicted the 2020 Golden Globes were full of savage Ricky Gervais moments.
This was his fifth time hosting, and Ricky Gervais was in typically excellent form at the 2020 Golden Globes.
Over his tenure as host, the British comedian has become loved by viewers and feared by Hollywood. Hosting the 2020 Golden Globes, Gervais once again skewered actors and actresses in the room. Check out the some of the jokes in the following video from Entertainment Tonight:
Savage Ricky Gervais Comments
After previously saying he would avoid personal jokes this year, Gervais instead targeted the whole of Hollywood. He joked about the so-called “woke” culture in Hollywood and left the A-list stars in the audience wincing and laughing.
Gervais, the creator of “The Office”, highlighted the hypocrisy of Hollywood’s “Woke” movements.
‘You say you’re woke but the companies you work for in China — unbelievable. Apple, Amazon, Disney. If ISIS started a streaming service, you’d call your agent, wouldn’t you?’

In perhaps the most savage joke of the night, Gervais hit out at celebrities who believe they have a political platform during awards shows. In fact, he shamed the audience into not giving any political speeches.

“You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.
“So, if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your god and then f**k off.”
Winners
After Gervais mocked Hollywood, it was time for the awards to be handed out. Big winners at the 2020 Golden Globes included Sam Mendes for best director for 1917, a movie which also won for best drama.
