Get ready Selena Gomez fans because the pop megastar has a new album coming out!
Through this week, the “Come & Get It” songstress has been leading up to the big news. On Wednesday, Gomez took to her Instagram to tease something major with a montage video displaying black-and-white portraits.
Selena Gomez fans did not have to wait long as she returned on Thursday with a release date for her next disc. According to the 27-year-old, the album will drop on Jan. 10, 2020. Her announcement was backed by Interscope Records and Universal Music, who confirmed the release.
As for the title, Selena Gomez fans have predicted she will name the album “SG2” although the singer did not confirm the title. It is worth remembering that the album with be her third.
Speaking back in June on The Tonight Show, Selena Gomez told Jimmy Fallon work on the album was underway and nearly completed. During the interview she discussed how the themes of the songs will tackle personal moments from her life over the four years since the release of “Revival”.
“I’m just relieved,” the Gomez said. “It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album and it’s just because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally that, how was I gonna capture that and how was I gonna feel good about what I was saying? So, I just kept going and I’m relieved.”

Of course, some of those “huge moments” are well-documented. Gomez has seen her personal life become a focus of the press in recent years. In September 2017, Gomez told her Instagram followers she would step back from public life for a short period. The singer took the time to receive a kidney transplant from friend Francia Raisa.
